Expect horrible latency, though (MS wavetable synth doesnt use ASIO at all, it cannot).

Im looking for a way to have reaper do it just like cubase and sonar.

May be it is but that would be the same a loading a VSt (with a default GM preset).

Anyway, if you want to select a GM instrument on the MS synth (or other hardware), use ReaControlMIDI with the GM.reaBank loaded or add PC message events in the MIDI Editor.

The low-latency is, I as understand it, completely outside Reapers control (unless, as I said, Reaper delays everything-else).

But, how about Sonic Realitys OmniSoundz II needs an Infinite Player licence.

No loading vsts for playback or to get sound on a track when using midi items and so on right clickselect GM instrument from bank or whatever Like cubase, sonar and reason.

That would be similar to using ReaControlMIDI with an edited.reaBank file.

There are a fair few GMGS plugin options out there and a lot of interest in making it really easy to use them in reaper (mostly by old MIDI farts like myself) So - might a mod be prevailed upon to move it.

I assumed the reamidi plugin would play GM sound by itself with the GM bank loaded.

Probably stuck loading vsts before or after loading midi for each track.

I know Reaper is way better than most other daws as far as tracks being anything midiaudio.
